So, I put 'em down....

I had been smoker for 13 years......started when I was 14. Smoked up to the day I found out I was pregnant with Gunnar....put them down during the entire pregnancy, as I was NOT going to put that on him while in my belly! Three or so weeks after I had him, I was back to being a full time smoker again...and have been ever since.

I have always loved to smoke, however, a couple weeks ago, my two-year old used a pen to act like he was smoking......:( I decided it's time to quit, so on Sunday, February 10th, 2008, I smoked my last cigarette. I'm on day 8 and am doing ok. The cravings have somewhat disappeared and I'm feeling good about it now. Some great things about NOT smoking:

- my hair, clothes, fingers and coat smell fantastic!
- I don't have to chew gum all the time
- I'm saving almost $5 a day (which will turn into close to $2,000 in a year)
- my parents are very proud of me
- Husband says he doesn't feel like he's kissing an ashtry anymore
- the kids I babysit can now look up to me because I quit

These are just some of the great things I've discovered in the past 8 days.....:) I'm sure there will be more.....I'm going to log my success here to help me with the task at hand! :):)

Update on ALL the expectant mothers in my life....

So as the saying goes, "pregnancies come in threes!!!" Well that is most definately the topic of conversation in and around our home!!!!!!

The first friend I have due in 2008 is Megan!!!! Due April 24th, 2008 (which is my mother's birthday!) I am so excited to see this cute little GUY!!!! Yes, it's a boy! I smothered her with "hand-me-downs" from Gunnar's baby/toddler stages! :)



Next is my sister, Kendra!!! Due July 3rd, 2008 with her third child!!!! This little GAL (YES, we are FINALLY getting a little girl in the family) will be spoiled rotten!!!!!!!




And finally, I have My Belle!! Due September 15th, 2008 Belle just found out today she is expecting TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!! I just can't wait to see what the future holds!!!!!!



I am so excited for the arrival of these 4 very important human beings to arrive!!!! They will be loved by many and smothered by the big, bad Miss Mindy!!!!!

Lyon's New Hobby......

Mr. George has taken on a new hobby and what's looking to be a great one for him!

He has been training in MMA fighting and has had three fights. The first fight he won in the first round (1 min 38 secs). Here are some shots I got!








He then had two additional fights....fought on the same night. Both fights were pro fights so he now has a professional record of 2-0!!!!!!

Fight #1 was finished in 2 mins 8 secs.







Fight #2 was finished in 11 secs!!!!!

My best friends birthday is today!!!!

Megan, you have been such a great friend to me over the years and I cherish our wonderful friendship!!!!! It's been fantastic having you as a best friend for over 15 years!!!!!

The start of 2008!!!

My new year's resolution was to lose weight and start eating healthy!!! So, since January 3rd I have been diligently dieting and working out. I am on the "three-hour diet" and I've already begun to feel better! I do Tae-Bo one time a day (55 minute workout) and have finally started seeing results! My clothes are fitting looser and I've lost 4 pounds. Yay!

The start of the new year has also brought 4 more children into my crazy new occupation of day care! I have been providing day care to my two nephews, Cameron and Austyn for just a little over a year now. I have taken on 4 more children (3 from one family and a little boy across the street.) Each day is filled with a new argument, a new game, a new "that's mine" or "I had it first" cry!! Despise the stress and craziness that comes along with childcare.....I love doing this!!!

The Annual Egger Holiday Feast!!

Megan always hosts a FANTASTIC and FUN holiday feast the Egger home! This is always one of my favorite holiday events, as we both consider the Mowrey family and the Egger family as our own family! Both sides of Megan and Luke's families has always welcomed the Georges' into their homes and have considered us as a part of their family. We love you all and had a great time!

Just some general venting!!! :)

My name is Mindy George and I am 26 years old. I am married to Mr. Lyon George and he is 28. We have been together for nearly 8 years and have been married for four. I feel as though, the two of us were put on this earth to be together....yeah, it may sound like the cheesiest thing ever, but we make one hell of a couple! We have fun together....yes, we fight - we're human.....we have our disagreements, but I wouldn't trade that man for anyone else in this entire world! We have two beautiful boys....Jory is my step-son and Gunnar is my son. They're our life.....we have a great relationship with Jory's mom and step-dad. (Many people have commented on how "weird" it is that the four of us get along so well, but it just works better when you're friends instead of enemies working against the grain.) Lyon and I lead a very happy and fortunate life and consider ourselves lucky to have the friends and family that care so much about us. We don't have an elaborate home, expensive cars....we live paycheck to paycheck and are happy with living just this way.

Images by Miss Mindy, LLC was started by my husband and I about a year and a half ago and this business has grown so much since we began. Some people may not agree with the title of "professional photographer", as I did not attend a photography school, nor do I hold any type of college degree, but as stated at the beginning of this paragraph, I have given the title of "professional photographer" to myself.

I do, in fact, have quite a few tattoos. This is something that I have taken a liking to in my adult life. I have, been labeled a "tattoo-freak", I have been called "stupid", and the one that gets me the most....my professionalism and abilities as a mother has been questioned because of my tattoos. This is hilarious to me, because if you know me at all, you know that I conduct myself in a very professional manner when it comes to my business and that I am a fantastic mother. My parents did not disown me.....as said by my mother, "You're an adult and what you want to do with your body is completely up to you, Mindy. People have plastic surgery done, they get liposuction, they alter their bodies in so many different ways.....who cares.....I love you no matter what." And quite frankly, my parents have really grown interested in other peoples tattoos and aren't "afraid" or "intimidated" by them....they approach that person and ask to check out what they have. It's pretty cool of them if you ask me. A thought to ponder...you go to your doctor for 14 years...he's your doctor, your parents' doctor, your child's doctor.....one day, you see him/her out and about, outside of his/her office....and he/she is covered in hours upon hours of tatto art. Will you look at this person in a totally different light for that simple reason? :) hmmmmm?? :):):)

I am a faithful wife to my husband, a wonderful and caring mother to my boys, a responsible babysitter for my 2 nephews (who I provide daycare for every day of the week), and a business owner. I am proud of my acheivements in life thus far.

Please understand...this is not geared to any named person....just those of you who choose to be narrow-minded and rediculous. It's easier to live life with an open-mind.....it makes your mind grow!! :) heehee!
