Things that make you go hmmmmm.....

Let me just say that I generally have a very postive and great outlook on life. When Lyon and I come to roadblocks, we deal with them with smiles on our faces and continue down the road. I truly belive in the saying "What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" and "Tough times don't last, tough people do." but when will this string of not-so-happy happenings end for us?!

This started with our washer....semi-flooded our laundry room so we have been doing the laundry mat thing now for 3 weeks or so.....no big deal, right? Right. I can deal with that.....

Last Friday I came to the conclusion that our alternator is going bad on the van....so, we planned on fixing that this past Monday...BUT.....

We were at Shane & Charity Gaskill's wedding reception on Saturday night.....we had had a great time, it was our 5-year anniversary so we celebrated there for awhile, said our goodbyes, headed to the van so we could go out together and what do we find?! Our driver's side window had been smashed and my purse was stolen.......new problem. This problem moved the the 1 spot.....my Driver's License, gone.....my check book (both my personal and business), gone....pictures of my kids, gone....etc., etc., so on and so forth. We file a police report, gather ourselves and head to McDonald's for our anniversary dinner because we had only enough money for McD's.

We get home from the wedding and what do we have?! NO HEAT IN OUR HOUSE......we tried turning it on a few times and said forget it....we'll deal with it tomorrow......

Tomorrow comes, still no heat, we're down to one car again, and I have the pleasure of dealing with the aftermath of having the most personal thing a woman owns taken from me. BLAH.........I get through that, close bank accounts, open new ones, buy a cute new purse (not nearly as cute as the one that was stolen), and we're good.

We're still out of heat by Tuesday, so Dad comes to check out the furnace situation.....the problem? We need a new motor.....ok, so thanks to my wonderful parents, they find us one for a really great price, but it won't be ready until Thursday - being today! Mom and Dad come to the house, Dad and Husband work on the furnace, get it fixed and wah-lah!!!! We're back in action with the heat!

We're heading out the door today for the gym and I was meeting with two customers....Husband goes to start the car, the battery is dead....or so we think. So he jumps the car and we're off! About 4 miles down the road, the speedometer drops, the dash lights shut off, the car starts to sputter and what-d-ya know......THE CAR DIES!!!!!!!! Are you flipping kidding me?! We find, after checking under the hood that a belt has broken. So, I call Debbie - THANK YOU DEBBIE FOR SAVING US - she rescues us and now Lyon and John are on a mission to AutoZone for a new belt.

THANK YOU SARAH BORAH FOR BEING SO PATIENT....I have been attempting to meet Mrs. Borah with her wedding album for a week now and have been unsuccessful thus far. I WILL be meeting her tomorrow, come hell or high water!

So, here I sit, bawling like a baby and ready to snap.....and I wonder.....why? I guess we wouldn't be dealt the hands we're dealt if we weren't able to handle them, right?! And I know, "everything happens for a reason" and that "it could be worse" and so on and so forth.......but I just HAD to get it off my chest.

Thanks for reading and caring.....I feel 100% better about my crazy week in life! And now back to your regularly scheduled life!!!!!!!!!

:)

when life gives you lemons... make lemonade. In cases such as these, make hard lemonade.
