Our 4th annual trip to Hell City

So, anyone who knows us is aware of our love for tattoos! So, why not share our pictures from our 4th trip to Hell City in Columbus?! :)

It's held at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus, Ohio and is a three day festival/convention. Many artists from all over the world attend the convention....they set up their booths with paintings, pictures of tattoos they have done, tshirts, stickers, etc. to show off thier talents. Most also do tattoos while they're there.

Here is the convention area.....

We make a handfull of friends when we go each year and actually stayed with a couple that we have hung out with during previous years! We met Jes, a tattoo artist from Wisconsin, a couple years ago and have stayed in touch with him over the last two years. So, he and her new girlfriend, Kelsey, were our roomies for the weekend!

We arrived at the Hyatt on Friday night after attending a wedding rehearsal and cage fight (yes, we pack our life full of events!) We got to chill out at the "Big Bar on 2" with cocktails and great conversation with many others in the tattoo world! (we're at the table in the upper right-hand corner of this picture)

So, already having a wedding scheduled (Congratulations to Tania and Zack Neater!!!!), we left the Hyatt Saturday morning to capture images of a very Beautiful wedding for a great couple, and arrived back at the Hyatt just in time for each of us to add to our growing collection of body art!

Lyon got a tribute piece to Gunnar (as you know, his name is actually "Remington") on his chest.....

And I got another skull-girl on my left calf to match the existing "Skulletta" on my right calf! Each skull is meant to resemble me at two different times in my life during the past year or so.....

After this, we headed back to the "Big Bar on 2" to talk about tattoos, swap tattoo stories, and hang out with great people!

And, of course, being a kid-friendly atmosphere, we decided to meet mom and dad to pick up Gunnar and take him to "Heck City" (which is the portion of the convention for the kiddies!!) Here, they can get temporary tattoos, balloons and pose for pictures.

Gunnar opt'd for just the balloon and no tattoos....

We each got to take our picture with the "tattooed family" members....check these out!

We then went to the coffee shop for a quick coffee/water break.....and snapped some ADORABLE pictures of each other!

Gunnar took this one of Lyon and I....

And the rest was either by Lyon, the camera timer or myself!

After one last picture, we were ready to go....

Can't wait til next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will be missed.......

On Tuesday, May 9th, 2008, we received the news that my Grandma had passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was 89 years old and was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I was fortunate enough both as a child and as an adult to have spent so much time with this woman. She was continuously dedicted to her family, as well as to her church and many clubs and organizations. She was a fantastic Mother of three, a Grandmother to seven, and a Great-Grandmother to twelve, a Sister, and a Friend to many many people! She had a HUGE heart and was an all around fantastic person! I will forever miss this beautiful person that I had the honor of having in my life.
